The Canadian Sailor is certified by the U.S. Coast Guard to carry up to 35 passengers. She was constructed by Willard Marine, is 40 feet in length, and is Cummins diesel-powered.

The Canadian Sailor boasts state-of-the-art electronic navigational and communication devices and is equipped with the latest lifesaving equipment. Our Captains are all U.S. Coast Guard licensed.


Do I need to check in before boarding?


Please check-in at our ticket booth located on Dobbin’s Landing to purchase or pick up your tickets.

We recommend checking-in 30 minutes prior to your cruise time. We will begin boarding approximately 15 minutes before scheduled cruise time.

Is there food and drink available on board?


There is no food or beverage service on board.

Are there restrooms on board?


There is one unisex restroom on board.

What should I bring with me?

We operate rain or shine, hot or cold. Please plan to dress according to the weather.

Here is what we recommend for varying weather conditions:

Nice/Hot Weather:

  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat

Cold/Rainy Weather:

  • Coat and/or Hoodie
  • Raincoat or Poncho
Will I get wet?

Most likely not. However, there is always a risk of getting a little wet when you’re on the open sea.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We operate rain or shine!

However, in case of certain weather conditions, it is at the Captain’s discretion if the narrated tour stays within Presque Isle Bay.

In the rare event that we have to cancel a cruise or return to dock early, you will have the opportunity to reschedule your cruise subject to availability.

Will I get sea sick?

Most likely not as the Canadian Sailor generally cruises around 6 knots (approximately 5 mph). If you have a tendency towards motion or sea sickness, please take preventative measures beforehand.

Should I tip the crew?

Gratuities are accepted and greatly appreciated but not mandatory.
